Challenge
As an anti-spam measure, the forced comment preview in combination with Akishmet anti-spam helped to single out virtually any spam comment I received. But the forced comment preview started to annoy me personally, so I decided to switch to Challenge in combination with Akishmet instead. I trust it is a lot easier than those stupid image validation mechanisms, but just as troublesome for spambots. And even if it’s not, Akishmet will still stop them anyway.
I will blend it in a little better with my layout later.
If you register and login when registered, you won’t have to fill out any challenge.
Oh darn, I cannot do simple arithmetic very easily though. Pretty funny when you really think about it, lol.

I had to lock my comments up to registered members as well 🙁 Stupid spammer. This is a good system though. Bet you some people won’t be able to do it though.

Yeah, it was somewhat inspired by your entry. I had been thinking about something like that since 2005, but yesterday a Google search taught me someone had already thought of it and even programmed it. 🙂

you should have parenthesis included in your math, i mean you have presumed that everyone knows to do the multiplication first then do any addition (some idiot might not realise this you see)

I do have to point out that I use TextPattern and I have never had a single piece of automatted spam. It has the built in preview thing that seems to put all spam in its tracks.
